That's where a system boiler with a properly sized cylinder makes more sense, and it's a conversation I have often on survey visits. I regularly come across conventional boilers with a tank in the loft, some well past twenty years old. They can be serviced and kept going safely for a while, and I'll tell you honestly when that's the sensible option and when you're throwing money at something on its way out. If radiators are cold at the bottom and the system is sludged, a power flush is usually the cheaper answer before replacing anything.

Often not. A combi heats water on demand, so running two showers at once can leave both weak. In larger CR8 houses a system boiler with a correctly sized cylinder usually works better. I'll size it properly on a free survey rather than guess.
